I was born before my birth
Before the springtime of the earth
For to my Father I was known
Before the seed was ever sown
Before the geese took to the skies
I had existed in His eyes
Within His great eternity
Before my birth He knew of me
I was blessed before my prayer
Before my soul was stripped and bare
Before my heart was filled with pain
He had sanctified my name
For He knew I would believe
That by His hand I was conceived
And by His death I would be saved
And on my brow His name engraved
He knew my suffering would be
The open door to set me free
That in the shadows of my sin
My heart would beg Him to come in
He knew the depths of joy and strafe
Before I took a breath of life
For to my Father I was known
Before the seed was ever sown
